Eligibility
To be eligible for the grant, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
- Hold an earned (not honorary) bachelor’s degree.
- Have received their bachelor’s degree on or before June 30, 2016.
- Applicants should not have obtained (not honorary) graduate or professional degree.
- Plan to enroll or are enrolled in courses/activities required for professional employment or advancement.
- Enroll in one of the following program types: a bachelor’s degree program different from the field of study of the previously earned bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree program, a certification program, or a technical school.
- Pursue studies in one of the following fields: Education, Health and Medical Sciences, Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM), or Social Sciences.

- The applicant’s commitment to education and equity for women and girls.
- The stated reasons for pursuing higher education or technical training.
- The level to which the study plan aligns with career objectives.

- The Candidate is from an underrepresented racial/ethnic background.
- Consideration is given to Applicants who will be in an underrepresented area or University of the country other than a top-level research institution during the award year.
