WASCAL is a global entity dedicated to fostering interdisciplinary research and academic excellence, with a specific focus on the West African region. It aims to build scientific capacity at the graduate level and provide science-based advice to policymakers in the region on adapting to climate change impacts and managing land use. WASCAL collaborates with various agencies and universities in West Africa to create a platform of excellence for its partners.

The mission of WASCAL is to offer information and knowledge services at local, national, and regional levels to help West African countries deal with the challenges posed by climate change.
