  • LSA Collegiate Fellows receive a starting salary of $66,000, benefits, and funding for research and conferences for up to two years.

  • Following the fellowship term, all LSA Collegiate Fellows will have the opportunity to embark on a tenure-track position. Depending on their readiness, certain candidates might even secure tenure-track roles directly through this program.
  • Whether scholars enter through fellowships or direct recruitment, tenure-track offers include competitive salaries, research support, and benefits equivalent to assistant professors in the relevant department(s)

  • Fellowships prior to obtaining a doctoral degree might be accessible in the fields of Economics and Political Science, necessitating the completion of the doctoral degree by July 1, 2025. If granted, predoctoral fellows will be awarded an initial salary of $50,000 along with benefits.

Eligibility Criteria For University Of Michigan LSA Collegiate Fellowship 2023

  • Natural science applicants are eligible if they completed their doctoral degrees between January 1, 2019, and July 1, 2024.

  • Meanwhile, for those applying to the social sciences or humanities. The completion of doctoral degrees should fall within the range of January 1, 2021, and July 1, 2024.
  • For Applicants in the Department of Economics, this window extends until August 31, 2024.

Kindly note that Applications for the 2023 LSA Collegiate Fellowship Program. Except for Biophysics, Chemistry, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. Economics, Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology, Mathematics, and Statistics, must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday, September 8, 2023.

Reference letters should be submitted by 11:59 p.m. ET on Monday, September 11, 2023.

Both applications and reference letters,  for candidates applying to the Departments. Of Biophysics, Chemistry, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Economics, Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. Mathematics and Statistics are required to be submitted by 11:59 p.m. ET on Monday, October 16, 2023.
