However, there has been quite a scarcity of teasers, which led to more speculation on what exactly the film might feature. What’s Known about “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” so far aside from its casting and the sole promotional poster is that the movie would be handheld by universal pictures and its co-owned animated film studio illumination entertainment.

Even though Nintendo has nabbed its very own film studio recently, Illumination has created some notable films right under its resume, like “the secret life of Pets,” “Sing,” and the “Despicable me” franchise just to name some.

Am sure the fans must already know what to expect from this film, but the newly unveiled “Super Mario Bros. Movie” trailer forms a much better picture of things, but the recently unveiled “Super Mario bros. Movie” trailer creates a much better picture of things to come from this legendary videogame series’ silver screen debut – nope, the campy 1993 live-action file does not count.

A Mario Adventure

“The Super Mario Bros. Movie” trailer starts off with Mario’s notorious arch-nemesis bowser, who can be seen against an army of penguins. That made some waves in “Super Mario 64” seems to be back in this movie, at least for a cameo. Bowser easily took down the penguins and stole the castle’s power star, leaving the fans awaiting their favorite Italian plumber. And finally, Mario shows up in the mushroom kingdom and meets Toad. You can watch the trailer here.

Although there are tons of plethora of Mario incarnations throughout the franchise, Mario’s bewilderment upon entering Mushroom kingdom suggested that the film’s going for more of an original Story. Other appearance that was notable includes Koopa Troopas and Magikoopa, with Luigi trying to escape bones during the trailer’s closing segment.

The Super Mario Bros Movie Confirmed Characters

Fortunately, the designs of these iconic characters seem to be quite accurately recreated in the film, mainly because the producer should know by now what happens when the video game-based movie trailer fails to meet the expectations of the fans. Unfortunately, the remaining characters in “The Super Mario Bros,” like princess peach and Donkey Kong, are yet to be seen.

Would we be seeing Yoshi cameos? Will Mario say his famous catchphrases? Hopefully, we would find out more sooner or later. “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” has been scheduled to debut in U.S theaters on the 7th of April, 2023.
