PlayStation Mobile Controller is a big deal for a lot of mobile gamers right now. A Sony Patent has revealed that the company might be working on a mobile gaming device. Instead of working like their most recent handheld device, the PlayStation Vita is a fully self-contained console. This controller makes use of the user’s smartphone for its gameplay.

When Will PlayStation Mobile Controller Launch?

The BackBone One – PlayStation Edition was announced in July of 2022, but it was not clear if that’s the same device as the one from the patent.
It seems recently, Sony has been interested in mobile gaming, and it is what Sony interactive entertainment CEO Jim Ryan stated during a 2021 corporate strategy meeting. According to him: “Mobile is just one of the areas we are exploring to reach millions of gamers beyond our platforms.
PlayStation has a huge catalog of diverse first-party IP that can transition to smartphone gaming and complement our AAA games or live service games. We are exploring the mobile market with some wonderful PlayStation franchises so please stay tuned.”

PlayStation Mobile Controller Price Rumors
At the moment, we are expected this to sit somewhere around $80 to 120. It seems like a device would function as a controller attached to your phone, which significantly shaves down the price compared to other handhelds that carry the actual console portion.
A mobile controller hooked up to your phone is not something new to us, so we can look at similar products and assume that Sony’s version would cost around $100. The Razer Kishi and Backbone one is around that price point.
