Once again, Amazon requires all its workers to wear face masks. Amid this increasing concern concerning Delta variant, as well as an increase in COVID-19 infections, amazon happens to have reinstated their policy that has to do with workers wearing a face mask. Those that have been fully vaccinated are also included. The decision also follows the CDC’s recent face mask guidance update, which now recommends that everyone should put on Face masks indoors in places that have high SARS-CoV-2 transmission.
Once Again Amazon Requires All Workers to Wear Face Masks
News concerning the reinstated face mask first came out in a leaked memo that Amazon allegedly sent to warehouse employees currently. The company has ever since confirmed the news that stated that its decision was based on the “concerning spread of new COVID-19 variants,” among other things.
Amazon Following Government Guidance
Amazon stated that it would be closely monitoring the situation, following government guidance, and getting advice and recommendations from medical professionals. Amazon is now offering employees, along with warehouse workers, access to on-site vaccination if they want it also.
Face masks have now become heavily politicized in the United States, an issue that happens to now be colliding with impatience and weariness among those that have been vaccinated fully. The latter group has expressed their frustration along with those that refuse to take the vaccinated, viewing these protective measures as things that only those that are vaccinated would do.
Although there has been a breakthrough process in vaccinated individuals. The majority of new COVID-19 hospitalizations and death in the United States have involved unvaccinated individuals, underscoring the importance of taking the vaccine. The vaccine remains to be available to individuals of ages 12 and older all for free. And this came with the authorization for young kids that are expected next month.
