The Fully Funded European Commission Peace Ambassador Scholarship is offered to young professionals in collaboration with the European Commission, the scholarship program seeks to identify the most impactful young leaders from countries around the globe.
Fully Funded European Commission Peace Ambassador Scholarship
The Peace Ambassador Scholarship aims to empower young professionals to build more cohesive and peaceful societies. Peace Ambassadors will participate in the One Young World Summit 2022.
This submission welcomes about 2,000 young leaders from over 150 countries to the city of Manchester for the global forum for young leaders.
In the course of the Peace Ambassador Scholarship, delegates will be required to present and debate solutions to the most pressing issues of our time, this will be done alongside senior leaders. One Young World Peace Ambassador Scholarship recipient will join a community of over 200 Peace Ambassadors who have participated in the programme since 2017.
Peace Ambassador Scholarship Programme 2022 will focus on the role of disinformation in fuelling hate speech, conflict and violent extremism.

Benefits of Peace Ambassador Scholarship
The benefits of the Peace Ambassador Programme include;
- The Participants will have their voices amplified, this will enable them to shape the policies that affect them most.
- The number of young leaders contributing to Peace in their communities will be increased
- There will be dialogue fostering amongst participants around the key theme of peacebuilding.
- The Peace Ambassadors will receive access to the One Young World Summit which takes place 5 – 8 September 2022 in Manchester, United Kingdom.
- They will be engaged in Roundtrip travel to Manchester and back to the country of origin.
- Payment for hotel accommodation for the duration of the Summit.
- Payment for Catering which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner during the One Young World Summit.
- Participants will subsequently gain Membership in the One Young World Ambassador Community
Requirements for Peace Ambassador Scholarship Qualification
- The required age for interested applicants is 18 to 30 years by 5 September.
- To be eligible, candidates need to be actively engaged in the fields of peace building, conflict resolution, tackling disinformation, or countering violent extremism.
- The candidate must be available to join the programme full time between 4 and 8 September 2022
- Candidates from Nationals of countries considered to be ‘developing or emerging’ according to the International Monetary Fund’s World Economic Outlook and selected countries that are affected by conflict are eligible to apply.
Assessment Criteria
- Scholars must demonstrate a commitment to creating a positive impact through peace building, conflict resolution, tackling disinformation, or countering violent extremism in their communities
- The scholar must be seen to have leadership ability / seen as role models in their communities
- The scholar must have the capacity for innovation and value-driven problem solving
- Must be concerned for local and/or global issues
- Must possess an ability to generate and articulate impactful ideas
- Ability to work towards a shared goal through teamwork and collaboration
- He/She must be willing to stay engaged with fellow Peace Ambassadors, the wider One Young World Community, and the European Commission after the One Young World Summit
