For the money, the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 is the best gaming laptop.
There are two configurations available, and you should get the $1,649.99 SKU with the 6700S GPU. We believe that this model, in particular, is the best 14-inch gaming laptop available.
With a weight of 3.79 pounds and a thickness of 0.77 inches, this is an excellent device for travel and commute gaming. It has an excellent keyboard, touchpad, port selection, and screen. In our testing, the frame rates were consistent, and there wasn’t a significant difference in performance between the 6700S and 6800S models. We also got all-day battery life, which is uncommon in gaming laptops these days. And there’s also a webcam.
If you want an animated grid of colored lights on your computer, you can pay more for a model with Asus’s AniMe Matrix. We don’t think these models are particularly good value for money, but they do have some cute features, including the ability to customize them to display words or images of your choosing, as well as a virtual pet that you can play with. Regardless, if you’re looking for a 14-inch laptop with powerful gaming capabilities that can also function as a daily driver, this device should be at the top of your list.
Razer Blade 16

Lenovo Legion 5 Pro
Lenovo’s Legion 5 Pro is the best gaming laptop it has ever produced. AMD’s Ryzen 5000 processors deliver exceptional performance in a stylish 16-inch chassis for well under $2,000 USD. It performed admirably in every game we tried, even at its native 2560 x 1600 resolution. With the 165Hz display, you’ll be able to fully utilize the Legion 5 Pro’s power.
Aside from performance, the Legion 5 Pro’s 16:10 screen is its standout feature. A screen this tall is rare in the gaming laptop market these days, and it allows for more multitasking if you intend to use the Legion 5 Pro as a daily driver. With 1.5mm key travel, the keyboard is also a joy to use.
The Legion’s main disadvantage is its short battery life. In our testing, we only got about four and a half hours of continuous use. While this isn’t the worst, we’ve ever seen from a gaming laptop, it’s nowhere near what the G15 will deliver. It does, however, charge extremely quickly using the included 300W power brick. Overall, while the G15 is a better option for people who frequently work on the go, the Legion is still a good option—and we have to give Lenovo credit for the 16:10 screen.
MSI GE76 Raider
The GE76 Raider is expensive, but it packs a lot of punch. It can be configured to use Nvidia’s top mobile GPU and Intel’s top processor, and it has the necessary cooling. (It’s currently available with 11th-generation processors, but 12th-generation models should be available in a few weeks.) You can get it with a QHD screen (which we recommend for most people because these powerful specs can fully utilize it) or a 1080p 360Hz display.
Keep in mind that this laptop is primarily intended for gaming. Its battery life is mediocre, and its chassis is quite thick and heavy, so if you’re looking for a device that can double as a portable work driver, look elsewhere. However, if you’re looking for what’s essentially a portable desktop, the GE76 Raider will provide a premium experience.
Asus ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition
The ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition is one of the few gaming laptops that comes with both an AMD processor and an AMD GPU. Not to worry, it delivers gaming performance comparable to laptops equipped with Nvidia’s top GPUs. It also has one of the best gaming battery experiences we’ve ever seen, with the ability to keep playable frame rates on Red Dead Redemption 2 for over an hour without a charger.
In terms of battery life, we averaged nine hours and sixteen minutes of work use between charges, making the Strix G15 by far one of the longest-lasting gaming laptops on the market. This is especially impressive given that it powers a slew of flashy LEDs, including a per-key RGB keyboard and a colorful light strip around the deck’s front edge. If you want a jazzy, bold design and you’re all-in on AMD, the Strix G15 Advantage edition is a fantastic gaming laptop.
Razer Blade 14
If you want a powerful 14-inch device that can compete with the best 15-inch gaming laptops on the market, look no further than the Razer Blade 14. This slim and portable device includes Nvidia’s top-of-the-line mobile GPUs, the RTX 3070 and RTX 3080, as well as a powerful eight-core AMD chip. It’s a stunning device, with a QHD 165Hz display option and a sophisticated RGB keyboard. There’s even a decent port selection, with HDMI 2.1 and two USB-C ports.

While the Victus 15 lacks the power to compete with some of the other devices in this category, it can certainly run a number of games at their highest settings, especially lighter titles. If you don’t want to sacrifice modern AAA titles, we recommend the RTX 3050 model over the GTX 1650 that was tested.
