Apple TV+ Coming to Comcast Devices

A deal has been struck between Comcast and Apple bringing the Apple TV app to cable giant’s Xfinity X1, Flex, and XClass TV platforms. The deal was a 50-50 share deal. Comcast in turn will allow the Comcast Xfinity Stream app and Sky Go app in the U.K. and Europe to be available on Apple TV.

Apple TV Plus

The Apple TV+ is a relatively new service to the video streaming service. It was launched two years ago. Originally, the service could only be streamed on Apple devices.

However, Apple slowly started working on applications for game consoles, smart TVs, and streaming boxes. Though being late to the club, Apple has some breakout shows already, which includes Ted Lasso, The Morning Show, and Mythic Quest.

Apple TV App

The Apple TV App can offer more than just the Apple TV+. Users will be able to purchase, rent, and play movies/TV Shows available on the iTunes Store.

Apple TV App users can also subscribe to channels like Starz, Paramount+, Showtime, and more using Apple’s TV Channels feature. Third-party content from services like Disney+, HBO Max, and Hulu can also be accessed directly in the app.

Comcast Devices

The xClass set of TVs which is built by Hisense is Comcast’s first foray into the actual TV set. Comcast has historically stuck to set-top boxes that can connect to an existing user TV.

The new TVs will begin at a price range of $298 and this includes 12 months of Peacock Premium contains with ads.

Verdict

Gradually, Apple TV+ is being rolled out to a lot of streaming services. Streaming apps should be accessible to every platform user. Though Apple isn’t home-free, it is still MIA on both Android and Windows.
