Alumni Postgraduate Research Scholarship Details
Applications for the 2025 University of Kent Alumni Postgraduate Research Scholarship are now open.
Established in 1995, alumni and supporters of the University fully fund this scholarship through donations and award it annually.
The scholarship is available for applicants from all disciplines. Selection is based on academic excellence, achievements, communication skills, and contributions to the University community.
Eligibility Requirements for the University of Kent Alumni Postgraduate Scholarship
Applicants must:
- Hold, or be expected to hold, a Bachelor’s degree (1st or 2:1) or a Master’s degree (merit or distinction) from the University of Kent.
- Have an offer for a full-time or part-time PhD research degree at the University of Kent for the 2025/26 academic year.
- Show contributions to the University community through activities such as student societies, sports, volunteering, or student representation on University committees.
- Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to:
- Clearly explain their research to non-experts.
- Express their passion for their research.
- Convince the panel of the wider impact of their research.
- Act as an ‘ambassador’ for the University and their field of study.
- Be available for a video interview on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.
- Undergraduate students applying to any University of Kent campus (Canterbury, Medway, Paris) are eligible to apply.

- A CV.
- A supporting statement (maximum of two A4 pages). Statements exceeding this limit will not be accepted.
- An academic reference supporting the research project (requested if shortlisted in the first round).
