The Rotary Peace Fellowship Program is a prestigious program that offers fully funded fellowships to up to 130 qualified individuals from across the globe. The program provides them with the unique opportunity to study at one of Rotary’s renowned peace centers.
Rotary Peace Fellowship Program Overview
The Rotary Peace Fellowship Program was established in 2002 to equip leaders with the skills and knowledge necessary to become effective catalysts for peace and development.
Over the years, the program has trained more than 1,700 fellows who now serve as leaders in various sectors including governments, NGOs, education and research institutions, peacekeeping agencies, and international organizations such as the United Nations and the World Bank.
Fellowship Programs
Master’s Degree Programs:
The Master’s degree programs offered through the Rotary Peace Fellowship provide accepted candidates with in-depth study of peace and development issues. With a duration of 15 to 24 months, these programs feature research-informed teaching and a diverse student body. Participants also engage in a two- to three-month field study tailored to their interests and goals.
Eligibility Criteria for Masters programs
- Proficiency in English
- Bachelor’s degree
- Candidates must have a firm commitment to cross-cultural understanding and peace
- Demonstrates potential for leadership
- Possess a minimum of three (3) years of full-time relevant experience in peace or development work
- People with disabilities and people from other diverse backgrounds are highly encouraged to apply, as Rotary provides reasonable accommodations as needed to people with disabilities.
- Candidates who are Rotary Peace Members or an employees of a Rotary club, Rotary International, or other Rotary entity, are not eligible to apply
Professional Development Certificate Program:
The Professional Development Certificate Program offers a one-year blended learning experience for experienced peace and development professionals. This program equips participants with practical skills to promote peace within their communities and regions. Fellows complete field studies and design and implement a social change initiative, earning a post-graduate diploma upon completion.
Eligibility Criteria for Professional Development Certificate Program
- Proficiency in English
- Bachelor’s degree
- Have five (5) years minimum of full-time experience in peace or development work
- Must be committed to cross-cultural understanding and peace
- Demonstration of leadership skills is mandatory
- The Peace promotion plan must be in alignment with Rotary’s mission
- Candidates who are Rotary Peace Members or an employees of a Rotary club, Rotary International, or other Rotary entity, are not eligible to apply
