About the Fellowship
Launched by RMI’s Energy Transition Academy (ETA), this fellowship is all about helping women in the Global South grow as leaders in clean energy.
The program provides a mix of technical training, mentorship, and networking to support women working on clean energy initiatives—whether in policy, business, or field projects.
The 2025 fellowship will begin in June 2025 and will be delivered virtually, with a mix of live sessions and self-paced content.
It’s a great fit for women who want to scale their impact without stepping away from their day-to-day work.
What the Fellowship Offers
- Technical Training on distributed energy resources and sustainable business models
- Project Management Skills including finance, risk, and procurement
- Group Mentorship from experienced women leaders in clean energy
- Peer Networking with other driven women professionals across Africa
- Capstone Project to design a local clean energy strategy, policy, or innovation
Program Timeline

- 2 live sessions/month (1.5 hours each)
- ~3 hours of self-paced learning each week
Leadership Accelerator (Optional)
Top-performing fellows will be selected for a 3-day, in-person leadership workshop in November 2025. This workshop will focus on practical leadership tools and strategies for women leading clean energy projects or influencing national policy. Selection will take place during the main fellowship program.
