The International Excellence Scholarship offered by Edith Cowan University (ECU) provides a valuable opportunity for academically outstanding international students from selected countries.

This scholarship grants a 20% reduction in tuition fees for the entire duration of eligible undergraduate or postgraduate coursework programs at ECU in Western Australia.

This merit-based scholarship is designed to attract high-achieving students from India, Pakistan, Nepal, and Kenya, encouraging them to pursue quality education at ECU’s onshore campuses.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the International Excellence Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of India, Pakistan, Nepal, or Kenya.
  • Be an international student (i.e., not a citizen/permanent resident of Australia or New Zealand).
  • Have applied to study onshore at ECU in either:
    • Semester 2, 2025
    • Semester 1, 2026
    • Semester 2, 2026
  • Have received an offer or conditional offer to study an eligible course.
  • Meet ECU’s academic and English proficiency entry requirements.
  • Demonstrate a strong academic record in previous studies.
  • Not be receiving another ECU scholarship, government scholarship, or external sponsorship.

Eligible Courses

Undergraduate Degrees

All undergraduate courses are eligible except the following:

  • Performing and creative arts degrees (e.g., Acting, Dance, Music)
  • Certain education degrees
  • Specific health sciences degrees like Nursing, Midwifery, and Paramedical Science
  • Courses in Cybersecurity, Counter-Terrorism, and Intelligence

Arts & Humanities

  • Master of Communication (C88)
  • Master of Social Work (Qualifying) (S10)

Business & Law

  • MBA and MBA International
  • Master of Business Analytics, Finance and Banking, Human Resource Management, etc.

Education

  • Master of Education (Advanced), Master of Teaching (Early Childhood, Primary, Secondary)

Engineering

  • Master of Engineering (I59)
  • Master of Technology (T59)

Science

  • Master of Computer Science, Cyber Security, Data Science, Environmental Studies, etc.

Medical & Health Sciences

  • Master of Nutrition and Dietetics (I49)
  • Master of Public Health (I62)

Nursing & Midwifery

  • Master of Nursing (J88)

Terms and Conditions

Scholarship recipients must adhere to the following:

  • Maintain full-time enrolment (minimum of 60 credit points per semester).
  • Remain in good academic and financial standing throughout their studies.
  • Use the scholarship only for tuition fees—it is applied automatically per unit at census dates.
  • Cannot defer the start of studies for more than one semester (unless approved by ECU).
  • The scholarship is non-transferable to partner institutions or other universities.
  • May become ineligible if awarded another ECU scholarship or government funding.
  • Must keep ECU informed of any change in circumstances that could affect scholarship eligibility.
  • ECU reserves the right to withdraw or withhold the scholarship at its discretion, including cases of false or misleading information.
