Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for this award;

  • Applicants must be talented international students;
  • He or she must also be a new student enrolling to pursue an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate programme at the University of Waikato.

Applicants must be holding an offer to be able to apply six weeks before the start of the applicant’s  programme

The following documents must be attached:

  • The grading scale of the student’s qualifications or a Conditional or Formal Offer of Place from the University of Waikato
  • A 200 word max. personal statement

Selection Procedure

  • The University of Waikato’s International Regional Managers will shortlist applications and present them to the Selection Panel.
  • Scholarships will be awarded based on academic excellence and future potential to serve as global ambassadors for the university.
  • The Director of International and the Chair of the Scholarships Committee shall make up the Selection Panel, which will meet regularly to evaluate applications.
  • The choices made by the Selection Panel are final, and no communication will take place after the selection meeting.
