The Hatfield Lioness Scholarship aims to identify individuals possessing both academic prowess and personal qualities necessary for postgraduate success. The scholarship envisions recipients as positive ambassadors for their home countries, leveraging their enhanced knowledge and skills for societal benefit upon returning home.
Benefits of the Hatfield Lioness Scholarship
Recipients of the Hatfield Lioness Scholarship will receive a support package, covering:
- Full payment of University tuition fees
- Stipend for living expenses
- Fully funded accommodation at Hatfield College
- Cost of return economy air ticket from the home country to the UK
- Travel cost between the UK airport and Durham City
- ‘Settling in allowance’ on arrival
- Cost of UK visa and the UK Health Surcharge
Restrictions
The Hatfield Lioness Scholarship does not provide funding for dependents, and accommodation is exclusively for the scholarship holder.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Hatfield Lioness Scholarship, applicants must meet the conditions below;
- An unconditional offer for their chosen master’s program by June 2024
- Not in receipt of any other scholarship for postgraduate studies
- Identify as a woman
- Nationality from specified countries
- Starting a degree program in September/October 2024
- Hold a relevant honors degree
- Fulfill all course entry requirements, including English language qualifications
- Do not hold a Master’s degree
- Lack of financial means for a Master’s degree in the UK
Level & Mode of Study
The scholarship is available for Full Time Taught Master’s Degree programs.
Year of Entry
The Hatfield Lioness Scholarship is available for students starting a degree program in September/October 2024.
Available Programmes
All Programmes are offered except MBA, PhD, and research Master’s programmes.
How to Apply for the Hatfield Lioness Scholarship
The application process involves two stages:
Stage 1 – Apply to Durham University
Submit an academic application for your chosen master’s program, referencing your intention to apply for the Hatfield Lioness Scholarship.
Stage 2 – Apply to Hatfield College
Apply for the Lioness Scholarship, including supporting documents, by the College deadline of March 31, 2024.
Candidates will receive the outcome of their scholarship application by mid-June 2024.
