About the GEM Fellowship Program
The GEM Fellowship supports exceptional students pursuing graduate studies in science and engineering.

Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the GEM Fellowship 2025–2026, applicants must meet the following requirements:
General Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident at the time of application.
- GRE scores are optional but may be requested by some GEM member universities.
- Must meet the academic requirements for admission into a GEM Member University.
Master’s Fellowship Requirements
- Must be a senior or graduate of an accredited engineering or computer science program.
- Must hold a minimum GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
- Must agree to complete two summer internships with a GEM Employer sponsor.
PhD Fellowship Requirements
- Must be a senior, graduate, or current master’s student in a recognized applied science or engineering program.
- Must hold a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Must agree to complete one summer internship with a GEM Employer sponsor.

- A minimum $16,000 living stipend for the duration of the master’s program.
