What the Scholarship Offers
Each year, the VFS-AFACOM partnership gives Latin American students a chance to shine globally by providing:
- 1 Full (100%) scholarship per program
- 2 Partial (50%) scholarships per program
- Access to world-class training in creative industries at Vancouver Film School

Who Can Apply?
You are eligible if you are:
- A current student in the last two years of your program at an AFACOM member university, or
- An alumni who graduated within the last two years.
Not eligible: Employees, contractors, and family members of the scholarship committee, providers, or partners.
Requirements to Apply
Applicants must complete and submit the following documents (all in English unless noted):
- Scholarship Application Form
- Government-issued ID or Passport (clear copy showing full name and date of birth).
- Two Letters of Recommendation (in English, including referees’ contact info and comments on your creativity, teamwork, work ethic, ability to take criticism, and achievements).
- Resume or CV (in English, detailing education and work history).
- University Transcripts (native language accepted for transcripts).
- One-Minute Video (English, max. 60 seconds) uploaded on YouTube or Vimeo, covering:
- Your name
- Why you are applying for the scholarship and how it would benefit your career
- A brief description of your best creative project (state your role in team projects)
- Proof of English Proficiency (if English is not your first language). Accepted credentials include:
- Duolingo: 120+
- TOEFL PBT: 550+
- TOEIC: 785+
- IELTS Academic: Band 6.5
- LPI: Level 5
- Cambridge B2 First: Grade A
- VEC Level 12
- IB English: 5+
- Transcripts from an accredited English-speaking institution
Important Notes:
- Scholarship winners must pay a CAD $150 application fee to accept the award.
- All files (except transcripts) must be in English and must not exceed 10MB total.
- Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
