About the Scholarship
The ACU Accommodation Scholarship provides a 20% reduction in accommodation fees for eligible students entering or continuing undergraduate studies.
This support applies only to ACU-managed student housing and is aimed at easing the financial burden for those who face barriers to higher education.
- Ballarat Campus: Reduction applies to Camillus Residence (two-semester agreement) or Managed Residential (12-month agreement).
- Canberra Campus: Applicable to any available room type on a 12-month agreement.
- NSW Campuses (North Sydney, Strathfield, Blacktown): Applies to any available room type, including studios and shared apartments, on a 12-month agreement.
Who Can Apply? – Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- Citizenship: Domestic student
- Course: Enrolled in any ACU undergraduate degree
- Campus: Ballarat, Canberra, North Sydney, Strathfield, Blacktown, or online* (*preference for on-campus study)
- Study Load: Enrolled in Semester 1, 2026
- Additional Requirement: Must have faced hardships or barriers in accessing higher education
Note: Room availability may affect your eligibility. Only one accommodation scholarship can be accepted per student.
Recognized Hardships or Barriers
Hardships may include, but are not limited to:
- Financial disadvantage
- Living in regional, rural, or remote areas
- Single-parent background
- Ongoing medical conditions
- Non-English speaking background
- First in family to attend university
- Cultural or social disadvantage
- Refugee or recent migrant adjusting to life in Australia

- The hardships or barriers they have faced in accessing higher education

Selection Process
- Recipients will be chosen by the ACU Scholarships Office
- Scholarships may be awarded before the closing date
- Deferral may be allowed with approval from the Accommodation team
Ongoing Requirements
To maintain the scholarship, recipients must:
- Achieve a minimum Pass grade in at least two-thirds of enrolled credit points each semester
- Remain enrolled at the same campus under which the scholarship was awarded
