About the CUBS Equal Futures Scholarship

The CUBS Equal Futures Scholarship is an initiative from the Cork University Business School (CUBS) at UCC.

The programme offers a 50% tuition fee waiver to four outstanding female students enrolling in select MSc programmes.

The goal is to promote female participation in finance, business analytics, and economics at the postgraduate level and to nurture future leaders in these fields.

Aim and Benefits

  • Support Gender Equality: Designed to support women aspiring to excel in traditionally male-dominated business areas.
  • 50% Fee Waiver: Four recipients will each receive a 50% reduction in tuition fees.

Eligible Programmes

Applicants must apply for and be admitted into one of the following MSc programmes at UCC:

  • MSc in Business Analytics
  • MSc in Business Economics
  • MSc in Finance (Banking and Risk Management)
  • MSc in Finance (Investment and Asset Management)
  • MSc in Finance (Corporate Finance)

Entry Requirements (By Course)

MSc in Finance (Corporate Finance)

  • Second Class Honours Grade I in a relevant undergraduate degree (NFQ Level 8), ideally in business or a quantitative-related field.
  • Candidates expecting to graduate with the above classification may also apply.

The MSc in Finance (Investment and Asset Management)

  • Second Class Honours Grade I in a business-related degree (Commerce, Economics, Accounting, etc.) or a degree with quantitative components such as Engineering or Mathematics.

MSc in Finance (Banking and Risk Management)

  • Second Class Honours Grade I in a business or quantitatively related subject (e.g., Science, Engineering, Statistics).

Business Economics in MSc

  • Minimum Second Class Honours Grade II in a primary degree (NFQ Level 8) from any discipline.
  • Economics or business background is not required.

MSc in Business Analytics

  • Second Class Honours Grade II in a primary honours degree.
  • Applicants must have completed at least one module in a quantitative area such as Mathematics, Finance, Engineering, or Computer Science.

Note: Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) may be considered for candidates with extensive professional experience who do not meet the academic criteria.
