Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the Kupe Leadership Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Citizenship: Must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
  • Residency: Have lived in New Zealand for at least 5 of the past 10 years
  • Academic Enrollment: Must be intending to study full-time for one of the following at the University of Auckland:
    • Master’s degree (any field)
    • Postgraduate bachelor’s (honours) degree
    • Final year of an undergraduate honours degree
    • Postgraduate diploma
    • Graduate Diplomas in Teaching (Early Childhood, Primary, or Secondary)
  • Academic Achievement:
    • Minimum GPA/GPE of 7.00 (out of 9.00)
    • Māori and Pacific applicants may qualify with a GPA/GPE of 6.00

Applicants enrolled in a master’s programme over 120 points may be considered in any year of study.
