These fellowships will allow recipients to participate in a series of interactive workshops. The program is also aimed at individuals from countries with limited HIV cure research resources who are dedicated to advancing HIV cure efforts.

The Research-for-Cure Academy Fellowship represents a crucial step toward accelerating progress in HIV cure research globally. By empowering researchers from developing countries, Progress is being made towards the shared goal of finding an effective cure for HIV/AIDS.

Benefits of IAS Research for Cure Academy Fellowship

Successful applicants will receive the following benefits:

  • Training on cutting-edge HIV cure research in accordance with the “Research priorities for an HIV cure: International AIDS Society Global Scientific Strategy 2021” recommendations.

Eligibility Requirements for IAS Research for Cure Academy Fellowship

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Possess adequate English proficiency
  • Be at the early to mid stages of their careers as investigators or clinical scientists.
  • Be affiliated with or collaborating with an institution or university in a country with limited HIV cure research resources.
  • Have an interest in the latest advancements in HIV cure research.
  • Preferably already be working in the field of HIV.

How to Apply

The academy will award fellowships to approximately 15 selected applicants, who will participate in a series of workshops held at the Wits Rural Facility in Bushbuckridge, South Africa from November 5 to November 7, 2024.
