Applications are open for the Women for Zero Hunger Program 2024. This program, initiated by Stop Hunger and Women In Africa (WIA), aims to provide support to associations actively combating hunger and food insecurity in Africa.

Established in 2016, WIA Philanthropy stands as the premier international platform committed to the economic development and assistance of African women entrepreneurs. At WIA Philanthropy, there is a firm belief in the substantial contributions Pan-African women make to the continent’s progress through their impactful actions.

Stop Hunger, founded 25 years ago by Sodexo employees, works locally and sustainably towards a hunger-free world. This global non-profit network is dedicated to eliminating food insecurity through leadership activities that go beyond mere food aid, with a particular focus on empowering women.

Program Benefits

  • Each of the three selected non-profit organizations will receive €10,000.
  • After the mentoring period, the jury members will choose one of the three finalist associations based on pre-established criteria. The chosen association will be invited to the annual Stop Hunger evening in Paris to receive the Stop Hunger trophy, providing increased visibility through a crowdfunding operation during the event.

Selected associations will partake in a 6-month personalized mentoring program facilitated by Stop Hunger and WIA Philanthropy. This mentorship is designed not only to refine the skills and strategies of the organizations but also to enhance their resilience and ability to overcome specific challenges they may encounter.

Eligibility Requirements 

  • The program is open to nonprofit organizations with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • The association must be African or actively engaged in an African country.
  • The association must operate in at least one African Anglophone and/or Francophone country.

Selection Criteria

  • Number of beneficiaries supported by the association
  • Quality of the proposed solution
  • Scalability of the solution
  • Beneficiaries: The solution must primarily benefit women or girls
