Westerwelle Young Founders Programme(YFP) Autumn 2024 Fully Funded

The Westerwelle Young Founders Programme(YFP), offers a half-year fellowship opportunity for 25 innovative entrepreneurs. These selected individuals are committed to driving sustainable progress in developing and emerging economies. This  Programme offers tailored assistance to help our founders scale their ventures and cultivate their leadership skills, outlined in the following program structure:

  • Kick-Off Event: A two-day virtual kick-off event is scheduled for mid-September 2024.
  • Remote Programme: Running from September 2024 to February 2025, Young Founders will benefit from six months of support. Including individual mentoring, monthly peer learning sessions, expert workshops, and networking opportunities with corporate entities and investors.
  • Berlin Conference: The top ten performing Young Founders will receive an exclusive invitation to a five-day conference in Berlin in June 2025. During this conference, participants will have the chance to present their pitches to investors, engage in workshops, attend networking events, and gain valuable insights into the German startup landscape.


  • Expert Sessions: Intensive sessions covering pertinent subjects led by distinguished experts.
  • Peer Learning: Opportunities to engage with other accomplished young entrepreneurs within the group to exchange knowledge and offer mutual support.
  • Mentorship: A personalized experience with a successful entrepreneur or investor who serves as a valuable sounding board.
  • Berlin Conference: A fully funded 5-day conference in Berlin, bringing together the top 10 selected participants for an intensive exploration of the city’s startup ecosystem.
  • International Community: Access to fresh business prospects facilitated by connections to program alumni, partners, and other members of the Westerwelle Foundation network.

Eligibility Criteria

Entrepreneurs with significant potential to drive impact and expansion towards a sustainable future are sought as leaders, based on the following criteria:

  • Your nationality or residency is in a nation classified as developing or emerging.
  • You have established a for-profit company in developing or emerging markets within the last five years.
  • Your business boasts a scalable model that has generated revenue or secured initial external funding.
  • You or your enterprise exhibit disruptive characteristics that can enhance industry quality, impact, or inclusivity.
  • You have a strong command of English.
  • You are able to attend the virtual kick-off conference and commit time to engage in program activities over the course of six months.
