The West African Centre for Cell Biology of Infectious Pathogens (WACCBIP) invites applications for its 2025/2026 DELTAS II Graduate Internship Programme.

This prestigious annual internship offers fresh graduates the opportunity to work in a research-intensive environment that supports the development of Africa’s next generation of scientific leaders.
Supported by the Science for Africa Foundation (SFA) with funding from Wellcome and the UK FCDO, the programme is designed to nurture talent and prepare young graduates for research careers in biomedical science and related fields.

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the internship programme, applicants must:
- Have completed undergraduate studies by July/August 2025 and be registered for National Service.
- Hold a degree in any of the following disciplines:
- Biological Sciences
- Computer Science
- Chemistry
- Biomedical Engineering
- Business Administration
- Accounting
- Economics
- Political Science
- Sociology
- Psychology
- English Communication
- Linguistics
- Demonstrate motivation, strong work ethic, and an interest in scientific research.
Internship Responsibilities
Successful interns will:
- Assist in ongoing research activities at WACCBIP.
- Contribute to the organisation and delivery of training programmes.
- Participate in research conferences and workshops.
- Undertake additional responsibilities assigned by the Director or immediate supervisor.
Financial Support
Interns will receive a monthly stipend as a top-up to their standard National Service allowance.
