What Is the STAR SINGA Scholarship?

The STAR SINGA Scholarship is a bond-free, fully funded award created for outstanding international students who wish to pursue doctoral research in Science or Engineering at Singapore’s leading universities. The program is a strategic collaboration among:

• Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR)
• Nanyang Technological University (NTU)
• National University of Singapore (NUS)
• Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD)
• Singapore Management University (SMU)
• Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT)

What Does the Scholarship Cover?

Awardees of the STAR SINGA Scholarship will receive:

• Full tuition fees for up to 4 years
• A monthly stipend of S$2,700, increased to S$3,200 after passing the qualifying exam
• One-time airfare grant of up to S$1,500
• One-time settling-in allowance of S$1,000

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the STAR SINGA Scholarship 2026, applicants must:

Visit the Research Areas section on the SINGA portal to explore available PhD projects that align with your interests.

2. Prepare Required Documents

Ensure you have the following in digital format before applying:

• Valid Passport
• Recent Passport-size Photo (.jpeg or .png)
• Bachelor’s/Master’s Academic Transcripts
• Degree Certificates or Letter of Candidature
• Two Recommendation Reports (submitted online by referees)

GRE/IELTS/TOEFL/SAT/GATE scores are optional and may be required by universities later.

3. Submit Your Application Online

• Register and create an account in the SINGA portal
• Select “Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA)” in the scholarship option
