However, interns will have the opportunity to work in a laboratory, experience cutting-edge research, and learn about biotechnology and medication discovery. They will work on one or more specific research projects in a faculty lab.

Amgen Scholars Program 2025

Amgen Scholars receive a stipend, round-trip airfare to Beijing, tuition reimbursement for the summer session, housing, and a portion of the campus meal allowance. Outside of the lab, the Scholars will get assistance from the Program Manager (PM) in all facets of campus life. To coordinate between academics, lab members, and Scholars and to offer the support that they require, the PM will meet with Scholars on a regular basis.

The program will have ten Amgen Scholars enrolled. The tentative dates for the 2025 Tsinghua Amgen Scholars Program are June 7–August 4. The deadline for applications is February 1, 2025. Also, notifications of program acceptance will be sent out between March and April.

Eligibility

Amgen Scholars Asian Program applicants must be undergraduate students who are;

• Enrolled in colleges or universities in Asia that award a bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent); an
• At a minimum, have completed their first year of undergraduate study at the time the summer program begins, and
• Are not graduating before the summer program begins, and after the summer program ends will resume undergraduate studies for at least a semester or quarter.

Tsinghua Program applicants must also have:

• A strong record of academic performance and
• A good working knowledge of English, demonstrated by a minimum TOEFL (iBT) score of 72, IELTS overall band score of 5.5, Cambridge English FCE, TOEIC score of 1095, TOEIC L&R score of 785, or TOEIC S&W score of 310, if not a native English speaker or English is not your first language, and
• An interest in pursuing a Ph.D.

Requirements

Stated below are the requirements for the Tsinghua University Amgen Scholars Program 2025.

• All scholars are required to attend the program for its full duration and are not permitted to enroll in any other courses or work.
• To reside in the housing that Tsinghua University provides.
• To arrive on time for meetings in the lab and other events.
• To go to the orientation for all mandatory meetings, events, and social gatherings.
• A poster outlining your research project for the summer.
• At the conclusion of the program, to turned in a research paper to the director of the Tsinghua Amgen Scholars Program.
