What Happens When You Leave a Group on Facebook
When you leave a group on Facebook, the members of the said group will not be notified. You will be removed from the group’s members list and the group will also be removed from your list of groups on the platform.
You will no longer get notifications in regards to the group posts in your feed. Other people on the platform will no longer know when you have seen posts of the group even though you have seen them before you left.
Steps to Leaving a Facebook Group
To successfully leave a Facebook group, follow the steps below;
Computer
- Go to Facebook and click on the group’s tab from your feed in the left menu
- Select the group that you want to leave
- Next, click on the three-dotted icon in the top right and then select the leave group button
- Lastly, click on leave group again to confirm
Android App
- Open the Facebook app for android and tap on the hamburger menu icon
- Tap on groups from the extended menu page. tap on see more if you do not see the groups tab
- Next, tap on your groups and select the group that you want to leave
- Tap on the three-dotted icon in the top right and select leave group
iOS App
- Open the Facebook app for iOS and app on the hamburger menu icon
- Tap on groups. tap on see more if you cannot see the groups tab
- Select your groups and tap on the group that you want to exit
- Next, tap on the three-dotted icon in the top right and tap on the leave group button
