tappi, a startup specializing in digital commerce SaaS solutions, has revealed its expansion into Côte d’Ivoire. The move aims to assist micro, small, and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs) across Africa in transitioning to digital platforms.

tappi, a digital commerce SaaS startup, has expanded its operations into Côte d’Ivoire, marking its entry into another African market alongside Kenya and Nigeria. This expansion aligns with the startup’s extended partnership with MTN, a telecommunications company.

The move comes on the heels of tappi’s successful pre-seed funding round, where it raised $1.5 million three months ago, following an earlier investment of $180,000 from Orbit Startups through an accelerator program.

tappi Offers A Range Of Digital Solutions

Founded in 2022 by Kenfield Griffith and Louis Majanja, tappi offers a range of digital solutions to help businesses establish an online presence, run advertisements, and manage customer reviews. The platform boasts capturing verified reviews on transactions totaling over $3 million, engaging more than 150,000 consumers, and indexing over 5,000 online pages.

While tappi’s services are not free, MSMEs in Côte d’Ivoire can access them for $8 per month. Additionally, the startup offers MTN users integrated access to its services through bundled data packages, allowing users to pay for online ads using mobile airtime, such as MTN airtime in Nigeria.

CEO Kenfield Griffith emphasized the significance of empowering MSMEs in Côte d’Ivoire and across Francophone Africa, citing the country’s robust GDP growth rate of 6.9%. He praised MTN’s commitment to digitizing MSMEs and highlighted the telco’s vast customer base and financial network as key advantages in reaching these businesses.

tappi’s Collaboration with MTN

Djibril Ouattara, CEO of MTN Côte d’Ivoire, echoed this sentiment, expressing the telco’s dedication to supporting businesses’ long-term growth through connectivity, communication, collaboration, and cloud solutions, in line with MTN’s Ambition 2025 strategy.
