Close Up Talented Film Makers Program

Close Up Talented Film Makers Program

The Talented Film Makers program aims to support filmmakers from diverse ethnic, religious, cultural, and political backgrounds by providing a comprehensive year-long training program.

The program includes three week-long workshops held in December, March, and June, covering various aspects of documentary filmmaking such as storytelling techniques, budget planning, and legal frameworks for distribution.

Program Details

In the final session, which is set up like a pitching forum, the programme helps and instructs documentarian filmmakers to create a complete co-production package that includes a trailer. Documentary industry experts provide Close-Up filmmakers with residencies, cash prizes, and prestigious honors at the pitching forum.

Decision-makers from a variety of organizations have attended previous pitching forums, including MEDIMED Film Market, Jacob Burns Film Centre, Movies That Matter, Catapult Film Fund, Silver Sun Foundation, Blue Ice Docs, Docs Up Fund, IDFA, Sundance Institute, The Guardian, SWR, ARTE France, MDR Germany, FIPADOC, and Chicken & Egg Pictures.
