Applications for the ANP Undergraduate Scholarship 2023-24 is now open. This scholarship is an initiative by the Association of Nsukka Professors (ANP), designed to uplift outstanding students from the Nsukka Cultural Zone, covering up to Isi-uzo, Udenu, Igbo-Eze North, Igbo-Eze South, Nsukka, Igbo-Etiti, and Uzo-Uwani Local Government Areas. The fundamental objective of the ANP scholarship scheme is to provide unwavering support to exceptional yet economically challenged students hailing from the Nsukka cultural zone. The focus extends beyond specific disciplines, in other to allow scholars to pursue degree programs in any discipline offered by Nigeria’s Federal and State Universities.

The Public Sector Reforms Research Group (PSRRG)

To have an in-depth understanding of the Association of Nsukka Professors (ANP)’s commitment to education, let’s explore the inception of the Public Sector Reforms Research Group (PSRRG).

In 2014, a call for multidisciplinary Research Groups resonated through the halls of the University, spearheaded by Professor Obinna Onwujekwu. Taking up this challenge, Professor Fab Obeta founded the PSRRG with a singular focus on applied research contributing to continuous public sector reforms.

The PSRRG, is sponsored by the University and based in the Department of Public Administration and Local Governance. Is a demonstration of ANP’s dedication to scholarly pursuits beyond the scholarship itself.

Benefits of the ANP Undergraduate Scholarship

The primary purpose of the ANP scholarship is to offer financial support to outstanding indigent students from the Nsukka cultural zone. Currently enrolled in a degree program in any discipline in Nigerian Federal and State Universities.

With the Financial burden being alleviated, ANP enables scholars to concentrate fully on their academic endeavours. The student’s tuition, books, and other essential educational expenses, are covered by this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the ANP Undergraduate Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Indigent Status: Applicants must be indigent 200-level students from the Nsukka cultural zone, specifically from Isi-uzo, Udenu, Igbo-Eze North, Igbo-Eze South, Nsukka, Igbo-Etiti, and Uzo-Uwani Local Government Areas.
  • Academic Brilliance: Prospective scholars should have achieved a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 and above, showcasing their commitment to academic excellence.

Required Documentation

During the application, applicants are required to submit the documents below:

  • Evidence of Academic Excellence: Applicants must provide evidence of their CGPA from their respective universities
  • Community Validation: A letter from the Traditional Ruler serves as a testament to the applicant’s roots
  • Academic Affirmation: A letter of attestation and identification from the Head of the Department further solidifies the applicant’s academic achievements and commitment.
  • Identity Confirmation: A current University ID card is a prerequisite.
