AGYLE, the African German Young Leaders in Business, is a platform that connects emerging leaders from Africa and Germany to foster lasting business connections.

African German Young Leaders in Business (AGYLE) Programme

This initiative facilitates direct collaboration and partnership between select African nations and Germany, encouraging the cultivation of inventive initiatives and projects to establish enduring economic cooperation. The network comprises of promising young professionals from Ethiopia, Ghana, Rwanda, Senegal, Tunisia, and Germany.

AGYLE is an initiative organized by the Agency for Business & Economic Development (AWE) and Germany – Land of Ideas. AWE is backed by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and receives support from GIZ and DEG Impulse.


  • Attend the AGYLE Live Week in Berlin in September 2024: Engage in a week of exciting activities, including interactive bar camps, targeted matchmaking formats, panel discussions, and insightful company visits.
  • Collaborate in a multicultural environment: Partner with young leaders from Africa and Germany to tackle compelling challenges in the circular economy and put your skills to the test.
  • Access leadership and personal development opportunities: Take advantage of customized leadership and personal development opportunities that aim to enhance your abilities as a young leader.
  • Establish lasting connections: Join a long-term business network and establish valuable contacts in Germany and Africa. Form enduring relationships that extend beyond the program.
  • Participate in virtual events: Stay connected through regular virtual events, providing professional insights and networking opportunities to keep you engaged and informed.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for this opportunity, you should:

  • Be a young leader aged up to 40 years.
  • Come from the sectors of business, politics, or media.
  • Engage in creative solutions within the circular economy.
  • Hail from Ghana, Senegal, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Germany or Tunisia.
  • Have a readiness to engage actively in the Young Leaders Alumni network.

Prior experience, existing partnerships, or projects in Africa are not obligatory.
